We never know what may trigger our thinking process [at least mine]
After finishing the story I knew my mind would be recuperating from the assault of continuous thinking but the speed at which it recovered amazed me. Not that I go completely blank after finishing one project it is just that the after-effect stays a little longer. I feel psychologically drained out and refrain myself from writing anything fresh. Most of the time I recharge myself by spending some silent moments at the seashore. This time I could not do any of these two.
I was watering my little plant and I saw a small kid in school uniform standing at the side of the road. We have a private school in one wing of our premises and he was definitely waiting for someone to come and take him home. It is a usual sight near any school, kids waiting to be taken home. But still, the look on that little kids’ face triggered my thinking and I remembered how even I used to wait for my maidservant. The kid stood there for a long time, looking left and right and then finally hanging his water bottle and little bag around his neck he sat on a stone nearby. I felt really sorry for that kid. How could his parents not be there on time to pick him up? Or at least arrange for someone to take him home. Well! The kid was finally taken home, so what if a little late. But there are so many children who have no home to return to. There are kids who stay in an orphanage [and orphanages can never be called as homes] worst than these kids there are so many kids who sleep on the roads, kids who are abandoned by their parents.
There are kids who stay in a house but still in their hearts are waiting to be taken home. Recently I saw a case of child abuse being shown in news. The 4 year old was brutally beaten up by her stepmother, so much that the girl had a fractured arm. Just few days back as I was browsing various recently published blogs I came across a blog where I found this picture and was deeply touched. It says a lot…
It is not only kids who wait to be taken home. There are elders staying in elders home too who wait to be taken home. The same day when I saw this news about the 4 yr old, on another news channel I saw an old couple been cheated out of their home by their own son. This couple had gone out for few days and when they returned the watchman of their building did not allow them inside. They learned later on that their son and daughter in law had cheated them and taken possession of their flat. They sat there … waiting to be taken home.
Not only orphans, or abandoned children or parents living in elders home [I just could not use the term “abandoned parents”. How can anyone ever abandon his / her own parents, is what I have never understood], wait to be taken home, even children and elders staying in a house wait to be taken home. Wait to be understood, to be cared for, to be loved.

akansha :
well feel bad to see the kid standing there, waiting for someone to pick him up. But luckily he has someone to come.
In US, if the parents dont come on time to pick their kids, then they are fined ,so all are very punctual in picking their kids.
as for kids, orphan,god knowz how their mother could bear them in her belly for 9 months only to abandon them, she would have faced so much pain, hardships, and fought with death to deliver baby , only to abandon the baby. wow, really brave ladies.
but the most disgusting is, that how can someone desert his parents. I mean , those ppl who have brought light to your life, been there with you, loved you, took you to school, got you married, and helped you till you stand on your own. How can you abandon them, you need a heart of a devil to do this.I have fights with my parents , but there is never a grudge against them. I can never ever dream vaguely of such thing. Parents are so integral part of your life, dont know how can one live without them, when they are alive. I feel dis heartened when i see some old man or woman begging. It really pinches me, all this life they worked for their children and now that the time has come for them to take rest, they are out there begging. My heart cries out, realy .

Heard of “You reap what you sow” ? Sometimes kids are neglected by parents(whatever be the reason) in the most crucial phase. The money they throw at them does not compensate for the warmth and security they yearn for. It so happens that these very kids grow up to neglect their parents.
Thats the tragedy of life, it comes a full circle at times ..

@Rockus I agree n I know you would take care of ur parents
@Neetika It hurts me too
@Anil the great I do not want to misinterpret what u mean when u say~
“god knowz how their mother could bear them in her belly for 9 months only to abandon them, she would have faced so much pain, hardships, and fought with death to deliver baby , only to abandon the baby. wow, really brave ladies.”
So pls clarify…
My say on this topic ~ there are ladies who go on with the pregnancies because they do not have resources to undergo abortion [rare scene in urban areas n developing rural areas but still exist in many a rural areas]
also there are ladies who maintain the pregnancy in the hope that they would deliver a boy n after knowing thru sonography or after delivery that it is a girl ~ you know what they do [their personal decision or family pressure]
there are kids who are orphans because of death of both the parents and my heart weeps for such kids
About abandoning parents … what do I say? I even hate to use this word “abandon”
My reply would be big for comment, so may be u will c a new post coming up.
@Cybermenace Yes I hv heard this quote. But I cannot really apply it here when we are talking of parents being abandoned. Needs a lot of explanation buddy n I will try to tackle this issue properly in my next post
@Emotions Agreed

Cruelity to both kids and old people is very difficult to digest. It can never be explained adequately why or how it happens.

Arti :
Thanks for being so gracious in asking my clarifications instead of judging the words yourself.
I do agree with your finding. In most of the above cases, there is not much choice.
But my statement was towards these two people, specifically :
first , illegitimate children, and given that pre-marital sex is pretty common now,
it has increased a lot.Young minds, too much pressure to experiment that they forget the precations.
Second, those mothers who without family presure, herself wishes to abandon a baby girl , even without
thinking or fighting a little bit for her baby girl. There was a family close to our neighbourhood,
where the female fought with her husband(verbally) and her in-laws to save her baby girl and she succeeded.
BTW, you can address me as Anil or ATG.
Hey , you have pictures in your blog profile, always the one with depth and a level of sadness or lonliness.
Is it an attempt to realise the world removing the masks of wittiness and sarcasms and seeing the world bluntly?
Or is it a sad feeling looking at the world today ?

@Anil Nice observation

Well … the depth of feelings in the eyes n the sadness on the face attracts me to these photos when I search on google. Also, that is how I am … melancholic eyes, deep in thoughts. My posts are on serious topics but I can be witty too
My close and IM friends know how I can make them laugh their lungs out
